Our Story
Three Generations on the Harbour
When Jo and Denny Cronin acquired the former Kennefick's Hotel in 1970, they transformed this handsome 1892 building into the traditional pub that would become the heart of Crosshaven.
Today, third-generation owner Denis Cronin—trained at Ballymaloe—continues the family legacy alongside his wife Caroline, siblings Joleen and Sean, and parents Thecla and the late Sean Sr.
In August 2020, a devastating flood from the main sewer required 18 months of painstaking restoration. We preserved every bit of maritime memorabilia, every piece of Victorian character. The result earned us Georgina Campbell's Pub of the Year 2022.
Our walls tell the story of Crosshaven's seafaring heritage. Our kitchen serves the freshest catch from Cork Harbour. And our welcome? That's been the same since 1970.
"Still family-owned. Still Cork's best-kept secret."
— The Cronin Family, Three Generations of Hospitality
