Three Generations on the Harbour
When Jo and Dennis Cronin acquired the former Kennefick's Hotel in 1970, they turned this 1892 building into the pub that would become the heart of Crosshaven.
Today, third-generation Denis Cronin runs the kitchen. Trained at Ballymaloe, he brings a food-forward approach to what was always a great pub. Caroline Burgess runs front of house. Siblings Joleen and Sean, and parents Thecla and the late Sean Sr., are part of the story too.
In August 2020, a flood from the main sewer required 18 months of painstaking restoration. Every bit of maritime memorabilia was preserved, every piece of Victorian character saved. The result earned Georgina Campbell's Pub of the Year 2022.
2pointroad, the coffee house next door, is the morning side of the same family. Golden Bean coffee, homemade granola, Belgian waffles. Same family, same building, different hours.
“Same family. Same harbour. Since 1970.”
